Refreshed jobs website simplifies hunt for public sector employment

February 23, 2015

A new recruitment website launched today to replace the South Australian public sector’s Notice of Vacancies website.

Public Sector Minister Susan Close said Jobs SA was a modern update to the jobs board.

“This new site will be a vital tool for attracting the best talent to the public sector, “Ms Close said.

“The Notice of Vacancies, which has been in operation for more than 12 years, advertised over 7,000 jobs in the last financial year.

“However, the system was not very user-friendly and we needed an updated and improved approach.

The Jobs SA site, developed by the Office for the Public Sector and Service SA, is a significant improvement.

“Jobs SA has been designed to be much easier to use, with a simpler interface for searching for jobs and subscribing to email notifications.

“Jobs SA will post jobs daily, which is a huge improvement on the Notice of Vacancies’ weekly posting schedule.

“It will provide the latest information and job opportunities to people interested in working for, or finding a new position in, the public sector,” she said.

The new site is also mobile-friendly, allowing people to search for jobs from anywhere.

The system will also give public sector agencies more flexibility and control over their job advertisements.

It was designed to complement the Government’s new Redeployment, Retraining and Redundancy policy, providing more opportunities and a better matching of vacancies for excess employees.
