The Return to Work Corporation (Crown Claims Management) Amendment Bill 2017 was defeated in the Legislative Council in June 2017. As a result, the transfer of new claims to ReturnToWorkSA did not occur from 1st July 2017.
The Government considers the Crown would benefit from the learnings gained from the ReturnToWorkSA service model to deliver consistency and transparency in the management of its work injury claims. Accordingly, the Government will continue to investigate changes to the management of its work injury claims, whilst ensuring it remains compliant with its legislative requirements as a self-insurer. Any changes are expected to be implemented by 1 July 2018.
