The Eligibility for Re-employment Register (the register) supports agencies to check whether former South Australian public sector employees are eligible for re-employment.

Developed in response to recommendations from the Independent Commission Against Corruption’s (ICAC), the register helps strengthen integrity checks during recruitment and supports more informed hiring decisions.

The register includes records of former public sector employees and public officers who have:

  • been dismissed on the grounds of misconduct
  • resigned during a misconduct investigation.

It also includes individuals who have received a termination payment that requires a period of exclusion from public sector employment, in line with relevant policy. This may include:

  • targeted voluntary separation packages (TVSP) (or other separation schemes, such as the Teacher Renewal Program)
  • workers compensation redemption payments
  • termination payments following executive employment or public office.

The register supports the One Government One Employer program by contributing to more consistent and efficient HR practices across the sector.

Strict security protocols are in place to protect the confidentiality of information held in the register.
